Goulburn Historic Waterworks

Goulburn Historic Waterworks

Commencing operation in 1886, the Waterworks provided the first reticulated water system to Goulburn.

Prior to this, water was sourced from wells or carriers. The buildings and engines are of national significance and are listed on the State Heritage National Trust Registers.

These beautiful pieces of machinery can be viewed in operation several times each year on scheduled Steaming Days.

On normal operating days, enjoy the static display, bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the banks of the picturesque Wollondilly River or make use of the free electric BBQ’s while the children play on the playground equipment.
